Tin Bins with a difference!
This is from Chin who is from Paarl in the Cape. I just love her take on the Tin Bins pattern!

And she has really been busy! Her coaster which she made from the cupcake range of Nearly Nothings was "christened" in tea the first day she used it!!!! haha
I love seeing what everyone has done with my patterns, please send me more pics for the gallery.
Thanks Chin!

Peppa-Jo Patterns Fan Feature - Chin Beley

Here is our February 2012 fan feature, my dear friend Chin Beley from Paarl

How long have you been quilting?
I did a patchwork course when I was nursing in Pietermaritzburg, but i wasn't able to attend some lessons so it wasn't really worth it! I really got into it when Masterpiecers started!

How did you catch the quilting bug?
I was infected with the quilting bug via my most dearest and precious friend, Erica.

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Eccentric (I like thinking out the box), enthusiastic and not-always-accurate ('Unpick' is my middle name) ..... Sorry I can't count to three!!

What inspires or motivates you to start a new project?
A lot of things inspire me, but it's the 'getting motivated' that successfully eludes me! New fabric, new patterns, seeing other people's completed projects (thats why I love Peppa-Jo patterns). Challenges from friends have also been a big factor here. Quilting is always fun, once I get started I don't want to stop!

Thanks Chin, and for all the lovely things you said, my face is pink!

The patterns featured here are "Who me?", "Hello There!", "Cats Rule!" and "Pick Friends", all Nearly Nothngs.

I would love to see what you have done with any Peppa-Jo patterns so send me some pics and your details to peppa.jo.patterns@gmail.com.

Peppa-Jo Patterns Fan Feature - Monique Every (18/01/2012)

Welcome to the very first Peppa-Jo Fan Feature of 2012. Monique, my beautiful daughter, my indispensable right hand woman and my greatest fan (bless her heart!) is my choice of fan feature for this month. Her unique way of looking at life and her different interpretation of things shows how a little bit of imagination and flair can be used to personalise just about anything!

Here is her interpretation of the Denim Daisy Bag:
Because she is not a quilter (yet), I asked her slightly different question than usual. Here are her answers:

Have you ever sewn before?
Yes, I have made a few bits and pieces. A teeny quilt, some skirts and of course, the Denim Daisy bag!!

What made you decide to try Denim Daisy?
None of the shops had what I was looking for and the Denim Daisy design was an almost perfect fit! I just made the strap slightly wider and the rest is history.

Did you enjoy making it, was it easy to follow?
It was super easy to make. I really don’t sew much and even with my limited experience of following patterns, I put it together in afternoon. I would definitely recommend it for beginners and experts alike!

Thanks Monique:)

Peppa-Jo Patterns Fan Feature - Rene Solomon (12/12/2011)

Welcome to our second Peppa-Jo Patterns Fan Feature!  Today I am featuring my friend Rene Solomon.  Rene is a part of my Masterpieces Quilting Group and has been a supporter of Peppa-Jo from way back in the beginning.  She has already made up the Kettle Full of Christmas Wishes pattern for our Christmas party!

The Lovely Rene

Kettle Full of Christmas Wishes

How long have you been quilting?
I have been quilting for about 15 years.

How did you get the quilting bug?
A dear friend of mine introduced me to a quilter and that got me hooked.

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Energetic, creative and a giver.

What inspires or motivates you to start a new quilting project?
That’s easy.  I don’t need much motivation to start any new project.  I always have something lined up before I have even finished my previous project.

Here are some of Rene’s other Nearly Nothings all made up:

Who Me? Nearly Nothing - Love the Frame!!

No Place Like Home Nearly Nothing

Peppa-Jo Patterns Fan Feature - Angela Paine (09/11/2011)

Welcome to our very first Peppa-Jo Patterns Fan Feature.  Today I’m showing off Angela Paine’s fantastic Nearly Nothing idea:

Angela and her creation

Such great colours!

Angela made this beauty using the Cherry Delight Nearly Nothing.  Awesome right?  I asked her a few quick questions so we could get to know her better:

How long have you been quilting?
I have been quilting for thirty years!

How did you get into quilting?
By visiting the first quilt show which was held in Kloof.

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Fun Loving Quilter.

What inspires or motivates you to start a new quilt?
Being a homemaker and a Gran and anything that I can appliqué as I enjoy hand sewing and quilting.

Thanks Angela:)
