Sew Together

It gives me great pleasure to introduce our “little Quilting Gem on the South Coast” otherwise known as Sew Together.  Proprietors Sue and Rob Stevenson opened the doors two and a half years ago and although the shop seems tiny, don’t let the size fool you!

Sew Together offers everything a quilter could need or hope for. From beautiful, imported American and British fabrics to our lovely local quilting range from Da Gama. They also keep an extensive range of gorgeous Shwe Shwe fabrics and all the sewing notions you could ever need. The best thing about Sew Together is that if they don’t have what you are looking for, they will do their utmost to find it for you. Now that’s service!  If it’s a new machine you are after, go check out the beautiful PFAFF and Singer machines on offer, including free lessons on purchase.

Rob and Sue

Behind the sales area is a well thought out and well equipped workshop where they offer a wonderful selection of classes. Take your pick from Bags, Quilts, Kumihimo (Japanese braiding), embroidery and machine classes and much, much more. I have personally taken the Kumihimo class with Sue and I can speak for her excellent teaching manner and the relaxed atmosphere of the class.

Sue herself has been sewing since the tender age of 7 and is an accomplished, qualified dressmaker, an award winning quilter and a patient, long-suffering teacher! Rob too has been involved in the fabric industry for many years. With such a great combination and their awesome range, Sew Together lives up to its motto as the Quilting Gem on the South Coast.

To find out more about Sew Together, their extensive range of classes and most importantly where to find them, check out their Facebook page. Finally a huge thank you to Sue and Rob for being such willing participants in this post:)
